HOST International has been working with communities to support the specific information needs of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Resources include information about the disease, how to remain safe and stop the spread and information to support access to employment and government assistance.

This page includes important information and a list of resources that have been developed and links to other pages with useful COVID-19 related information in multiple languages. Keep visiting this page for updates as we continue to develop resources based on need.

Coronavirus is a contagious virus. It is time to stay at home.  Do not put yourself nor your loved ones in danger.

Stay informed and follow the expert health update and advice on:

Call the National Coronavirus Health Information Line for information about COVID-19 on 1800 020 080.

Translating and interpreting services are available on 131 450.

GET Tested:

  • If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, even if only mild
  • If you have visited a place or travelled on public transport at the same time as a confirmed COVID-19 case
  • If you have been at an interstate COVID-19 case location during a specific time period
  • If you have been in contact with a person (including family, friends and people you live or work with) who
    • is confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 or
    • is a close contact of someone confirmed to be infected with COVID-19

A positive test result means you have COVID-19.

Your doctor or the public health unit will provide you with advice.

The local public health unit will also contact you to interview you and identify your close contacts.

If the test is negative, it means you do not have COVID 19.

GET Vaccinated:

The COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. When it is your turn, we encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

If you are eligible, book your vaccination appointment at your nearest NSW Health vaccination site or GP. If you are not eligible, you will be able to register for notifications when the vaccine is available to you.

Financial Assistance:

You may be eligible for a Disaster Payment if you have missed work because of the current restrictions. Contact Services Australia for eligibility HERE
